SciFi and Fantasy Art: Seeth and her Dragon

MADE IN WINTER 2005

This picture was a little experiment of mine. I had never made a full picture with watercolor and watercolor pencils before. Of course, I was used to both mediums, but never had I done a painting with only those mediums, an no ink. Black ink is what I usually use to do the lines on my drawings/paintings, but in this one I did the whole pic in watercolor and watercolor pencils - no ink what so ever. That was a little bit of challenge for me, as I´m used to being able to paint the color right on without having to worry about blurring it all up! But I think it turned out pretty good! And by the way, she´s not human, so she´s supposed to have that very long throat!

Medium: Watercolor an watercolor pencils

Hi Magnus,
naturally "Mango" is being a complete twit, but I think he is on to something. Now, don't get me wrong, you know I think you are a brilliant artist, but your images seldom have very much movement or emotions in them... they can seem kind of frozen. Maybe that's just your next level, next challenge, maybe the level you are on is be too easy for you, time to move on and grow.

Bless you!

1 Magnus Fröidh replies: "Hey! Nice to hear from you! Where are you theese days? What country? It“s a shame we didn“t meet when you where in sweden... 8(Yeah, I guess your right. At least in some ways. I“m not that good at making pictures with alot of movment, but I do think there is emotions there. But I“d like to be able to realy capture feelings and express them in a picture. I think that the biggest reason that I“m not able to do that now, is that I don“t lnow enuff about colourtheory, and I also need to improve my drawing-skills to make the pics more dynamic...Actually I“m thinking about going to art-school i GBG after tne summer...I haven“t decided yet though, so we“ll see...Say hi to Shane from me, will ya?Hugs / M"

Seeth is a beauty, I am very fascinated by her tattoo and by the background! This picture has this special "Something", you know what I mean?

Nice picture I really like the composition and the horned "human" is great one thing though the I suppose jewels on the dragon imideately made me think of chicken pox (vattenkoppor in Swedish litt. "water pox") I'm sure that's not your intention but to me he just looks a little... desiesed

I’m diggin’ it, but it looks like I just caught them in the middle of some kind of tale that I’m completely oblivious to. Makes me wonder what’s going on, and looks a little flat without me knowing what’s going on...if that makes any sense.
