SciFi and Fantasy Art: Characters: SärvanonThis man is Lïdzhin Särvanon (Lee-jin Sar-va-non), an influential politician on a human world colonized after Nasfan (the name and details which I have yet to think up). I plan to write a more complicated story about Dreamworld some day, and make Särvanon the main villain in it. He suffers from a mysterious disease that even the most skilled medics have been unable to explain, which among other things made him blind and made him lose his hair. Nearly all of his body processes have stopped. He doesn't breathe, nor does he need to eat or drink. His blood doesn't flow, making his skin pale and cold like that of a corpse. The veins directly under his skin are filled with clotted blood. (There's a story to all of this, of course, but I'll keep it a secret for now.) Because image is important in politics, he covers up his repulsive skin as much as possible. Whenever he shows up in public he wears a hooded cloak and gloves, in a black and purple color combination that's both melancholic and stylish. Except his eyes he does show his face, in order to appear more human. I know villains in hooded cloaks are horribly cliché and about as old as the fantasy genre, but given his situation and the general clothing style of humans in Dreamworld, it would actually be less plausible to dress him in any other kind of outfit. This might be the first picture I made entirely without MS Paint. In the making of this image I also learned how to vector, about which I'm very happy. It's a method that resembles my MS Paint-techniques a lot, but it's much easier, and the results are better. | |
