SciFi and Fantasy Art: Flutterface

Another 'Adventure in Computer Coloring' - I think I might be getting the hang of this... anyhow, this sidhe is one Menolly ap Dougal, and part of my eternal quest to drown her mask right - anyone have some tips on doing prismatic glass? not much to say, beyond that. <P> Pen on Strathmore 60 lb. paper, colored in Corel Photopaint

I adore this one for the color, the composition, and the innovative character design! This one just has it all. I love the background and have tried to replicate that time and again, dagnabbit. I'll get it yet. Until this, this stands as one of my faves of your pics EVER! Good job!!

Even though you cannot see her eyes, the rest of her face proves very expressive. A piece of art that proves that eyes are not always the windows to the soul. Sometimes the glasses are! It's a great coloring job too, colorful without burning the retinas! And you have a remarkable way of creating costumes!

ooo.... I like it! Sorry that's a 'Wow' comment... um. I like the colours and the shading is really detailed - I wish mine would turn out like this.... It really shows that an effort has been made..... sorry now I sound like an art teacher... um - yeah! 2

I love this picture, it must be one of my favourites of your work, it's lovely bright and colourful. She's got such amazing clothes, and her hair. I admit it's not how I envisioned Menolly in my minds eye but that isn't a criticism or anything. I love the glasses, I love the entire concept of them and the way you RP Menolly. I can't see anything wrong with the way they've been drawn here, then again I amn't an artist myself, but I'd think it would be near impossible to get the thousands of rainbows scattering everywhere sort of image that I imagine when you write Menolly's description and it would detract from the rest of the picture anyway. Oh and cuz I don't think I said it I love the background too.

Hmm... What to say that hasn't been said before without sounding like a complete pretentious wanker? Aw, what the hell. I like this picture. The mask. The colours. The background. The tree. The girl. Yep. It all adds up to a complete and wondrous vision of the Sidhe known as Menolly ap Dougal. Personally, I don't know what you'd like the mask to look like. I think it gives her an air of mystery, that we yet cannot pierce all that is Menolly. And last... Damnation! I wish I could draw as good as you! Affel. A Jealous One.
