For a first go... your good!. the pose is natural, teh armour is detailed, functional. You should be proud of this one. Frame it even. Great one

Not bad at all, about the way I was a few years ago, when I did do a knight, but he doesn't look as good as yours. 2 A book to help you with youre art : "Drawing the Head & Figure" By Jack Hamm. This book has really helped me out, and I still refer to it.

I like the sword and the shield.
About the armor, it is nice but a real full plate armor doesn't looks like that. I offer you to see some real armors and draw by them.
You can find one (drawing) in my gallery: http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/loth/z/a/zachi/
You can find lot (photos) in Arador Armor Library:

I agree with the previous commenter that what you have drawn does not look like "real full plate armour" because what you have drawn is, as I hope you are well aware, NOT full plate armour. It looks allot more like plate segmented armour to me, and nicely done, too. Also, if you go (or went) to Zachi Evenor's page to look at his picture of full plate armour, look at it for how not to draw armour. I am much more impressed with yours. Definitely research actual source material to base your drawing on.
Good work and keep it up.

Its very good for ur first, except his right foot is too small and his sword hand is too small. Also his left leg reminds me of a flamingo. Kinda bent backwards or hyper-extended.
