SciFi and Fantasy Art: Galateia ~ Nereid

lovely, lovely...but is it me? or are those "tatoos" really seaweed?...she is a sea goddes...just curious...

O.K. picture. However, her left leg is bent into an impossible angle. Also, her upper body would be at an angle going against that of her lower body, not straight up and down. Thank you.

Question for Gary... Ever taken a life drawing class? Not all angles, when drawn, come from unnatural poses. Some of them look physically straining, or nigh impossible, but in fact work just nicely, thank ya very much. Check out the "More Maggie" pic in my gallery for an example. The angle on Galatea's leg here is not impossible, and is in fact quite easily reached by placing a whole bunch of balance and weight on the other leg (in this case, the figures right leg). Reactively, her torso would shift to reflect the change in balance obtained by that weight placement, thus tilting to the angle it's at now. It's called Contra-Posta theory, and works marvels for drawing and figure rendering.

oh - i really like her... but I've always though, Galateia was the goat whom zeus broke the horn in his younger years... but anyway - i like her pose

she has good shape and conture but she needs to be colored
