Well, oddly enough I did this pic over the summer of 2004, probably June. What's odd about that? I've since become OBSESSED with masquerade balls. Partly aided by my senior prom theme being a masquerade ball, and my consequent need to make a mask for myself, another for my date, and a few others for friends. Or the fact that I finally got a copy of The Labyrinth on DVD. Go figure. Black ballpoint (INK!), with a MAJOR cleanup job in photoshop... I did this on LINED paper in Driver's Ed class, and the scanner's terrible. But hey, looks a lot better, even with minor anatomical issues and still-visible lines in the skirt. When I first scanned it it was yellow, dull, the heavily-inked areas where rippled and shiny... just... eww. This was a miracle. I like the lack of shading on her skin, but it was VERY hard not to do. (For reference, yes, she is wearing a bustle, yes, she is wearing a bodice. It was not her body I screwed up on. At least not in any great excess.) 6/04

Very, very masqueradey. Wow, good english. I like the detail on the wings and dress, but her head seems slightly enlongated at the top.
As for the rose in her hands, a great metaphor, but a liitle hard to make out. Overall, much goodness, and good shading.

I love this picture! The profile is very esthetic, and the stiff lines of the dress give it a very unique doll-like quality. I also love the detailed wings. Congratulations!
