SciFi and Fantasy Art: Waterfairy taking a dip

Well this is one of my new sketches. This is far from done, and my eraser is going to be my best friend with this one. I need ideas for where to go with this, though. Mainly, I don't like her face yet, and I don't like her right arm (facing the horsetail). Any thoughts?? <<HB/6B pencils>>

the detail on the plants is nice, and I love what you did with her skirt and shirt! Just think more about body proportions...and generally, with faces, "less is more!"

I'm actually starting this one over again. I've kept the same shirt and skirt, but much of the rest is different. We'll see...

Again, proportions seems to be the issue here, as well as the face. I love the lower body, though. The line of the leg is really graceful. The upper body seems to be what needs to be worked on. Think about the expression you want on the face...is she taking a dip, or falling uncontrolled. Look at the background as well...what's there, is it dark, or fuzzy looking, etc.

I intended her to be falling in, where the title was just meant to be funny. Naw - you saw the right and intended facial expression.

Well, I've already seen the Daphne version of this, so I guess you don't really need pointers so much anymore. But this is cool anyway. *peace*

ok...I'm the artist who had that "Carrier" picture you loved so much....and, btw...I have updated it...mostly inspired by your advice....so, I feel I can try to help you with this...as best as I can....her right arm could be a tad longer...consider where your elbow meets your waist...imagine her arm being at her side...would the elbow be at the same place at her waist that your elbow is?...her left breast could be a tad larger...maybe a tad more shading on her left leg...cuz it's awesome....i adore the wings as I cannot seem to get them right....and as far as the "horsetail"...I think you meant cattail...if you made that more of a foreground...possibly add a couple more smaller ones or leaves as if it framed that corner of the picture...it may make her look to be behind it...or you could just change the angle of her right arm altogether...but I don't suggest that...do not change this so much that you lose it's feel or integrity.....just add to what you already have here...it's got a good composition and feel...come see my updates and let me know when you update again...k?

Thank you so much for the comments. Don't think I won't e putting them to use in my next drawing. Just wait until exams are over...

Hey...sorry to be commenting twice in a row but I have been offline for a while and I had a couple of artists email me with colored versions of my "Dancer" pic...however, my dear husband accidentally deleted them before I could respond....I was thinking one of those emails was from you...if so please send it again...and, btw...you are one of my favorite anatomy critiques...I value your opinion and hope we can continue to admire and improve each other's work....thanx and hope to hear from you....as you will hear from me! Have you finished this yet??? Let me know,k?!
