why? (runnnnnaaawaaayy that is) - for all it's heart stopping unfamiliarity chaos does far less real (or even ureal for that matter) dammage far less often then either gratuitous conventionality or aggressiveness - let alone the combination of them both ... (simple creature may be able to do little but fight or run but a reasoning and creative mind has the potential to explore other possibilities ... the benai geserite incantation against fear from frank herbert's dune books comes to mind - "fear is the mind killer - the little death - i will let my fear wash over me and through me - and where it has gone - nothing - only i remain" ... (and no i'm not fearless - not even close - it's just that the unknown is seldom if ever as ligitimately frightening as rather far too much that is all to damnably familiar ... ~
