SciFi and Fantasy Art: Silk Dragon II

Another dragon painted with dyes on a silk scarf. The dragon took more time to do, but the clouds were a lot harder. The scetch for the dragon came from somebody else, in the form of a line drawing, so I don't know the source, but I loved the expression.

How much do the dyes cost that you use and are they easily avalible to members of the public and i know you dont want any 'WOW' comments but it really is nice . How many more have you done

Lucy, thanks for the comment on this one, the dyes are commercially available from some art and craft places, but the chemical and dye companies are better and cheaper if you're really into doing a lot of this, powdered chemicals are better than mixed, no shelf life problem that way. I've done maybe 9 or 10 silk paintings, mostly birds in flight, hawks and owls and a few dragons.

that is sooo cool i wish i had the talent to make something like that. that would be a sweet tattoo on someones elbo area or on the side of the neck, but smaller.

Your oriental dragona have such persoanlity! I think you should do a really big wal hanging and sell it to a chinese restaraunt. You could make money doing that ya know!

This is gorgeous, it must have taken forever to do, all the detail of the scales. The colours are beautiful too, I really like the bright blue sky behind the dragon. I love this ^^

ooo that is very gorgeous. I don't think i could have the patience for that kind of dyeing. Gorgeous! You should sell things online, I'm sure you would have many buyers. ^_^ Have you done dying on Kimono's? You would be perfect for that!
