SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Ruin of the House of Fëanor'Father! Are you at last proud of me? For I, who so disappointed you during your life, I who seemingly lacked all of your gifts, am now in the end your perfect Heir. For I too have lead my family to their deaths and my people into disaster, scorning the counsel of those wiser than myself. I too have corrupted my talents, using them to slay my kin, and have warped my fëa into a thing of darkness. And now, like you, I am a spirit of fire, a living flame, consumed by blazing agony. All that remains is to die as you did, casting myself into the Darkness, for I cannot endure the pain of this burning.'
Inspired by a Silmarillion-based fanfic by Ithilwen, The Heir of Fëanor.
Watercolour and Photoshop.

Maedhros killing himself and Maglor throwing the Silmaril into the Sea... a very, very powerful image indeed, and you've illustrated it beautifully. And you read Ithilwen's fics too? Small world indeed! A very, very beautiful pic. I cannot find words to describe it properly, and seeing as I'm a writer, that's saying something! You can be proud of this, as you can of all your pictures. | |

| 15 Jan 2005 | Hugo | Please don't send messages that give away parts of the story people, as some people may not have read it. Jenny Dolfen replies: "Well, for a book that has been out for over thirty years, I think we can dispense with spoiler warnings, don't you think? " | |
| 2 Feb 2005 | Anonymous | I first saw this picture quite a while ago. It brought tears to my eyes, it had such an air of tragedy about it. Previously, I'd never held a great deal of sympathy for the house of Feanor, believing that they deserved all they got. Seeing this picture prompted me to reread the Silmarilion and re-evaluate my opinions. They are now my favourite characters. | |
| 7 Jul 2005 | Anonymous | Theres something wrong whit the hands its like they are to thin but great piture!! | |
| 8 Jul 2005 | abby | Wicked! Really surpising! It has a spooky and rare thing into it but seems like a sad pic. It really isweell done and has a nice touchwith watercolor. Youre work is excellent! | |
| 15 Sep 2005 | Anonymous | Maybe it´s just me, but it seems little like Maedhros were saying Maglor farewell... Just look how his hand reaches to Maglor´s. But maybe I only imagine. Anyway, the pic is as amazing as the rest of your´s. Though I guess you´ve already heard it...=) | |
| 30 May 2006 | Morgan NicGregor | All your work is... incredible! You have a true talent... no, a gift. Most of Maglor's problem was he was weak-willed when it came to his brothers. Some very much deserved their fate. Malgor and his eldest brother were the only ones who regreted their actions and felt grief for what they had done. At least Maglor saved Elrond and Elros from death and raised them as if they were his own. A point in his favor. Very tragic... | |
