SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Girl Who Was Raised By Pigeons

They found her in the park, ragged and wild-eyed. The only noise she made was a sort of soft coo, and she was certain she could fly.

In which I channel Charles Vess.
I had this idea several years ago, and had to wait until my art skill caught up. Unfortunately, the scanner butchered all my nice smooth gradients. This piece is 11x14 on watercolor board in ink, watercolor, interference acrylic on pigeons and metallic acrylic on the pop tabs.

All my favorite animals seem to be vermin. I love pigeons, sparrows, starlings, rats, squirrels, mice, opossums...
