SciFi and Fantasy Art: Venus of the Purple Room

Experiment with a new style that I can only really describe as 'digital grisaille' - ie, it starts out with a black and white picture, and the painting is done in transparent layers on top.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: You can't go wrong with good-looking naked women. ^^

Nice picture. Congrats on the Mod's Choice.
Though, the whole pose looks very familiar and I'm also familiar with the color style you used. I've working with that method as well, although I wasn't that good, becausre you have to learn how to shade the picture before you scan it 12
Anyway, I think her hips are a bit too wide as well. The bending of her middle seems a bit off and I agree that she should sink in the cushions a bit more. She doesn't seem totally relaxed.
The dragon is great though, very cool! As well as the background. I'm gonna try something like that as well!

Nicely done, but there are a few areas that do seem a bit off to me. First, her left leg doesn't seem quite right. I'm not sure why exactly...something to do with the shape and how it disappears behind the other leg, but I can't quite put my finger on what isn't quite right. Also, she looks almost like she's floating on top of the cushion instead of sinking into it. Lastly (and this is a little nit-picky, I know), it seems like her breasts are sticking out straight forward when they should be drooping a bit due to gravity. She's leaning sideways, and breasts that size would not just stick out like that.

On the plus side, I think the dragon looks great and you did a fantastic job on the background. The woman's hair looks really great, too, and I'm envious of anyone who can draw feet that don't just look like little stumps at the bottom of their legs! 1

Besides the few anatomy problems I mentioned, it's a pretty well done piece. Congrats on the mod's choice!

you have a terrific background to this pic. i agree that she should sink into the cushions. and i dont like how one of her legs are floating and the other goes behind it and you still cant see it. but her left breast should be drooping. and im not sure that her belly button looks quite right. but other than that it is a great pic.
P.S. how is she waiting for?

First off, I like this. Most of My drawings are nude, as well.
Second, drawing nudes does not make you horny or perverted, it makes you appreciative of the human form.
Third, the pose reminds me of the Venus of Urbino by Titian (of whom I am very fond). Good job!
