SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Forest Watcher

Maybe the slenderness of his leg looks a little effeminate? That's a bit of a stretch though. Alternately, maybe it's the drape of his hair. Kinda looks like a tight-fitting dress (though don't ask me how one'd get up a tree in something like that). The composition works. And so does the black and white of it. Nice detailed work.

This is nice. Silvan elf, right? Don't listen to Mr. Kuusirati. Pants would destroy this composition. Elves are more gracefully curved than humans. This gives them all a slightly effeminate look. His left hand (foreground) is a bit awkward. I thought he was being rude at first. The crease at his left (foreground) elbow looks a little too pronounced as well. Placing him at the top was a nice touch. He looks wistful and high up as though longing for his lover's return. Unable to wait on the ground, he has climbed to watch for her - to catch a glimpse of her as soon as possible. Beautiful detailing on the trees.

the main thing he's doing that i've never been able to is get my hair to grow long and straight like that - sleeping in trees and wearing t-tunics i've done (admitedly not at the same time) - and no i don't think it's thight fitting - it's just drawn up snug like that from the way he's lying there - the only thing that looks a bit awkward is the lack of anything to rest his left ankle (the one nearest us) on - but then he isn't actualy trying to go to sleep - still that leg is gonna get tired - he'll probably end up doing what i would and that's bring it in a little so he can rest it against the trunk - right now he's manuvering it around for some reason - either he's just getting comfortable or just getting ready to get up ... ~

well, just for the record, i thought he was a guy, and a VERY sexy one at that your b&w works are absolutely amazing i think this one is gorgeous ^_^

*shrug* looks like a boy to me, just a pretty one in tune to nature. Lovely composition as well.

I think you've got a great composition; I'm so into pictures in which the main focus isn't "centered." Not to mention he's pretty cute! The only thing I would have done differently is that I would have made his cloak point to the ground, instead of flipping it back up over his legs; it would make it feel like he is swinging his leg, not resting it. Anyway a hot-to-trot picture! Well done, Grace!

This is a really cool pic, i really like the detail of it, it's very interesting. I like the guy too (yes i knew it was a guy)he looks very relaxed, and yet cautious, like he's one of those people who are always on the watch for something. Good job, keep up the good work! God bless!
