MOURNING OF THE BANSHEE In the still of the night Beneath the darkness of shrouded moonlight Under my bedroom seal The phantom maiden stops to kneel A tattered gown reveals her pale flesh Her white hair a tangled mess Blood pouring from her eyes Shrieking and moaning as she cries Her face appears outside my window frame She peers at me through the clear pane The sound of her voice driving me insane A bony finger beckons me near But I can only quiver in fear Pouring down tear after tear Her mournful song echoes my name Never again shall I see the morning flame For tonight it is plain to see This lady of death has come for me
