SciFi and Fantasy Art: Silvantana version 3

The air on the surface was wet and smelled of.. she wasn't sure what. Green plants, most likely. It wasn't dissimilar to the stench of the gardens they cultured in the nobles' manors. It was altogether unpleasant.

Silvantana trudged on, her head bowed to keep her eyes from the vastness of the star-strewn sky. The tales had not prepared her for the reality of having so much nothing above her. But there was no going back. The dwarven patrols pursuing her these past days might not follow her into the surface lands, but they would certainly collapse that cave, trapping her on the surface. Her fate was just as sure as if they had caught her in the tunnels. It was perhaps this resignation that prevented her from detecting the warriors surrounding her until it was too late...
