SciFi and Fantasy Art: K'shenurien in Samurai ArmorA Ronin Samuari of the late eighth century, K'shenurien (a gray mongoose) made his way west for a fighting competition. Here he is all dolled up in his full suit of armor. For the most part it is accurate, but I did take a few liberties. He is armed with daito and wakizashi in his paws, and a kusarigama and chain in his belt on the other side. I'll tell you, Japanese armor may look cool, but it gives you writer's cramp after a while! This is possibly my most ambitious Photoshop coloring attempts yet, as that I shaded and hilighted everything down to each chip of the armor. Hoofka, that took some time, but I like the final result. |

Once again brillant picThank you very much, it is still one of my personal favorites. (Even if I did steal its background from the one of Sakai eating) I hope to do more as well, but only time will tell when that will be. | |

| 4 Jan 2004 | Anonymous | I lvoe this one, it is so detailed!!!You are no match for my kung-fu! Your kung-fu is weak and immature, mine is strong like the mighty chinchilla! | |
| 5 Jan 2004 | The WeeFreeMan | Very nice, I'm sure your getting tired of receiving high praise all the time but you'll have to endure one more person saying "You are really really good." so there, be content in knowing You Rock.Do you know how cool it is to say someone calling themselves the WeeFreeMan liked your art? It's "cool as." | |
| 3 Jun 2004 | Colin C. Haynes | I luv this pic. Mongooses (geese?) what is the plural any way?? Any who, they used to be my favorte animals before I really descovered wolves. I also LOVE anything to do with feudal Japan. The Japanese battleflag in the background makes for a nice touch. Keep up the good work!Wolves are cool, but when you live in the Northwest, they're waaaay overdone. So, I've got mongooses. I'm glad you like K'shenurien here, and the flad was originally intended for another piece, but ended up on this one just because it could. Sometimes accidents are a happy lot. | |
| 5 Jul 2004 | Monkey | It's really cool how you research all of the weapons and aromor for your drawings. I never have the pacience to do that! Well, he looks awsome. Did they realy wear sandles like that though?Sometimes, yes. Though I did have to modify them in order to make them fit his body. And, I was laid up in a hospital for a while with nothing but a book on Samurai and Feudal Japan, so that's kind of how I researched. | |
| 16 Sep 2004 | Monkey | What happend to get you in the hospital? Are you ok? oh no!! This is so cool. hey can you do a picture of a ninja for me?
