SciFi and Fantasy Art: He Who Casts

Once again, a body study that turned into a complete drawing. It's an elf (duh) casting a spell (because i couldn't draw the feet:)). I suppose he's my...parallel in some fantasy world. I think I did quite well with the intensity in his eyes... As for the abdominals, don't tell me, I already know there's like a thousand of them :)

I like the little rocks in the backround. They look like little dimented hersey-kisses with eyes and mouths. It's a compliment, it really is. ^_^. Try to add shading to your body.. you've done it with everything else.. why'd you leave him out?

Id just like to give you some constructive critisism. First of all. Perhaps you should start simple then build up. Like draw normal non muscular dudes, and as you get more into body shading, increase your muscle tone. It might help to look at pictures, or other peoples drawing of bodies, and use that as a reference.

Definatly start to shade the bodies. http://www.polykarbon.com has some great drawing tutorials and hhtp://www.geocities.com/area51/vault/7946/crock2.html was a great reasource if it is still there.

thats allmost a 24 pack. The muscles need to look more realistic try drawing lines for the arms and legs to get the pose and build it from there. Good try though

PSH! *sarcastically* 24-pack, 10-pack indeed!

Come on guys! THIS IS FANTASY ART! F-A-N-T-A-S-Y A-R-T! As my rl friend commented to me when I read her the other comments--WHO says that an Elf HAS to have the SAME musculature as a human?! Elves are physically different than humans in all the stories, right?! Well!!!

I think Guillaume is probably the first artists I've EVER seen draw Elves that look different than humans.

And because Fantasy is Fantasy, not everything HAS to fit 'scientific standards'. Thinks can be as out-of-proportion-muscular-whatever as the artist wants.

I really think you did a great job on this Elf. I like all the shading you did to the background and I think that because you have little shading (People, there IS shading there you know) on the Elf, it makes him stand out.

I think the Elf is really cool.

I would only suggest a little change to the arms; give him some more room for his wrists. But then again, that could be how an Elf really looks.

Great job Mr. Pomerleau.

Do elf males have boobs too?

Beutifull, you’re really good at the balk grounds. Try making the pecks, or what they call man- boobs, more squareish but still curved. If you try drawling some on some regular fax paper, like the back of a worksheat then the same amount of detail you’re doing now will....well you try it and decide. If you the lined paper then go ahead, you might want to try what the others are suggesting but do what works for you.
