SciFi and Fantasy Art: Galatea

Pygmalion was a sculptor in ancient Greece. He created a sculpture, which he named Galatea, that was so perfect that he fell in love with it. The goddess Aphrodite saw this love and brought the statue to life.

oh i just love the shading and how she blends with a stone... wonderful... I'm unfamiliar with that story. and i thought i know all the stories from ancient Greece 1 oh well it seems I'll have to refresh my knowledge...

Awesome composition!!! I love your subject matter. BTW you have a real eye for the human figure (very soft and realistic looking skin) I hope he finishes her feet before she comes completely to life 2.

YES!!! minus the face this is what I like to see it has depth and value I can walk right in. But the face still needs work
