SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Dragon Summoner

What few wizards seem to realise is that summoning a servant is not the most important part. Mastering the servant is.

This is a remake of the picture called 'Wicked'. Hopefully I've picked a few things up since then ...

This is very cool indeed IMHO 2 I live the composition, love the man standing there like that and think the dragons are cool! And the scales 2 The whole thing makes me wonder whathappens next...

It seems to me that the dragon isn't looking directly at the mage. Other than that I have nothing else to pick on.

This is really great. I had a similar idea but I never had the time to make it past the original sketch.

id like to see a copy of this when its coloured! IT very good tho! i like the head and the lil dude isent that pronounced in the pic(if u coulou it give him a red cape of soem thing)

:-) Petter Häggholm replies: "Unfortunately, I very sincerely doubt it ever will be coloured, as I lack any skill or talent with more colourful media - these days, in fact, I work almost exclusively with black ink pens (and mechanical pencils for sketching, of course). You are right about the mage not standing out, though - even with pencil as my medium, I should have emphasised his presence more. Darker tones, perhaps; maybe a black cloak ...?"

Hmm, that's one courageous mage...

Greetings and Woah!
It must have taken you forever to draw evvery single dragons scale!
Looks very good, too. The work was worth it!

Hot damn, Mis, those scales are incredible. And I love the stance of the little guy on the hilltop, and how the dragon doesn't look too impressed with him. It flows very nicely and I even like the clean white space in the background.

The dragon is awesome. I bet the scales took a lot of work. I wish I could draw that good.

This is much better then wicked, although that peice was done very well too. The way the person and dragon are poised really speaks to the veiwer. I love it!
