| 5 Apr 2001 | Danielle Williams | The expression on his face is *really* good. ANd I love how you did the cape, especially around his shoulders, and the way it floats behind him. Might I suggest somehow giving him a background that isn't white?...Even graying it out may help with a more...stark mood. I think, anyway.Anyone who wants to see this with a grey background may visit my home page, where I made it a transparent GIF image and put it on a grey background... The point is well taken, though. I've been told by a lot of people, and I know that I really need to start working on some backgrounds. I need to stop being so lazy. | |
| 5 Apr 2001 | Erin | The coloring is fantastic... with the diverse effect of intersecting lines, one can create a more realistic fabric element. I have never seen anything like it, and I commend you on your work.Thank you! I absolutely love this technique myself. I like to work with ink pens because of the vivid contrast they offer, from the stark white of the paper to the absolute black of the ink, and using this technique I can get this and get some nuances. It has a potential for dramatic contrast, and with a thick-tipped pen it has a certain roughness to it that I rather like. | |
| 6 Apr 2001 | Jennifer R. Meyer | I really like the billowing cape! And the trailing sword, too. | |
| 30 Apr 2001 | Salvatore | WOW great picture but that is not a drow drow has black skin and white hair i should know. Because i left Menzoberranzan, the drow city.Of course it's not a drow. That's what I've been telling you people from the very beginning. Besides, I don't like AD&D, so I wouldn't draw a drow in any case. | |
| 26 May 2001 | Dianne L. Alter | works with the name... very mysterious. | |
| 3 Sep 2001 | H D Leonard | Wow finally someone who agrees with my theory that dark elves should be paleskinned creatures. I always loathed the fact that the only dark skinned race I'd ever seen in AD&D were the evil dark elves (I've later been told that that isn't the case, but they're the only ones I know, you never hear of dark skinned good elves even if they are out in the sun). I think it makes far more sense for them to be pale skinned from a lack of sunlight. Anyways enough of the D&D comparisons. They don't have the only say on fantasy. Besides he looks far better like that. I love how this picture is coloured, the fact that it's mostly so dark but with just that hint of colour. He seems so dark and moody, almost regretting what he's done. He's got amazing hair and a great cloak, I love what you've done with them. I think this is my favourite of all your pictures. | |
| 1 Nov 2001 | Aurélie Kapusta | I like the sword and the face! Good work ) | |
| 2 Nov 2001 | Nico Danell | BLESS YOU!!! I have a special love for anyone who doesn't equivocate the term "Dark Elf" with "Drow". Because of this misconception, I hate Drow terribly. *G* Whenever I'd post pics of my dark elf characters, people would ALWAYS complain that the skin wasn't 'dark' enough. heh. That just made me MAD! heh. Anyhow, this pic ROCKS! He just looks plain awesome! Woot! | |
| 12 Sep 2003 | Erastes | i think you have more talent for faces than you give yourself credit for. stop obsessing over the colours and textures of the cloth, and think about the emotions of your wonderful men. I know you can do it. it's within you and shines from within the pictures you portray. the faces are there for us all to see, you just need to let them guide you. This dark elf is wonderful. do portraits...you know u can.. | |
| 1 Dec 2003 | Rachel D. Flesher | Wow! I know a friend that would gobble him up..and I don't mean the many characters in my harem either. Especially one. But anyway. Love his name. Duskwolf. The friend I mentioned would love that since she has a thing for men with 'Wolf' in their names some place. | |
