SciFi and Fantasy Art: The First Harbinger

Omen, the First Harbinger, is one of the most mysterious and resourceful servants of the sorcerer Nekros, being a product of the Necromancer's twisted magic. An undead creature possessed of both unnatural strength and a wicked shrewdness he hunts down relentlessly both those who oppose his Master ... and those who fail him.

Awesome technique here! I love the sketchiness of the tree, the piercing eyes, and the dynamic pose. Well done!

LOVE IT! This is the best one I've seen here! The, umm... "figure" is great! The eyes, the pose, the clothing. Exquisite! You really captured something with this one! I love the balance of it, and the wonderful shading, especially the way you did the trees. Only thing is... (wow, I'm in a nit-picky mood today ^_^;12 that... erm... "figure" is supposed to be pretty ameciated (sp?) and gruesome looking, right? The forarm is a little plump ^_^ Also, the rips along the bottom are a little too uniform. You might try lengthening a couple of them in alternating directions, and adding another rip or two toward the edges. (Sorry if I'm being over-critical ^_^)Heh, once I get over the shock of each of your comments, I must admit that they're all very good—more critical than Elfwood comments tend to be... As you may have noticed, my pictures either lack backgrounds or have backgrounds that are hastily and rather poorly drawn. In this case, the Harbinger itself and the tree comprised the focus of the picture; the rock was added as an afterthought, and the shading on the ground is just sloppy. The forearm (I presume you are referring to the right one) does look a bit too thick, considering the skeletal appearance of the Harbingers. This, of course, is due to the fact that he is wearing a garment of some kind, but it does look like it's tighter about the arm than it should.

I love the dark gaunt face on the character. This piece has a really foreboding feel to it, like coming upon a nightmare in the wastelands . . .

Ehum...my first thought was that this drawing style reminds me of the Bamse comics in Sweden because you can see each penstroke so clearly...But this would be the horror version of it then. Wouldn't fancy being poor Lilleskutt hopping around in the forest and meeting this guy, he looks even worse than the big bad wolf *LOL* Cool style though, but I like your more "smooth" drawings better, like the one with the forest demon.
