SciFi and Fantasy Art: 2002-Megalyth

This was done in an art exchange. This is a very high level giant-sized ogre character who presented a challenge. How does one draw a monster with a high charisma, in a manner that they still are monstrous, but not hideous? I tried my best. Drawn to the Player's specifications (including his erm...endowment). Mechanical pencil on sketch paper. Done in February 2002.

You succeeded well in doing that

:-) Bridget P. Haines replies: "Thanks Bram! I drew this for the most part at an SCA event. I always have a devil of a time drawing male figures, and this one was an exaggerated one to boot! I had to raid Half Price Books for used copies of muscle magazines so I had a basis to build off of."

I really like your work. But I have a question about this drawing. What is the bulge area on this character's loin cloth?

:-) Bridget P. Haines replies: "*points Bob towards the description of the image and the comment responses by the artist*"

Ya know, i can see why there arent many comments here, but that must have been hard to do! Its a great picture.

:-) Bridget P. Haines replies: "Actually, there were comments, but as I've noted in my gallery and on most of the pictures, when I renamed the files to reorder them in the thumbnail, it wipesd out 3+ years worth of comments on the gallery pics. Thanks for the kudos though!"

Juli: Hey, we can comment again!
Lili: Yeah, it wouldn't let us comment becauseI called Juli an id*ot. I never knew that was a swear!
Juli: Well, you didn't have to call me one.
Lili: *looks at picture.... smirks @ "bulge in loin cloth"*
Juli: *swats at Lili* Your not supposed to LOOK ~there~!
Lili: uh *covers eyes*
Juli: He's an awesome ogre *eyes widen* WOW! He's not one of those "I'M SO UGLY I'M GONNA EAT YOU!" ones either!!! ^.^
Lili: Yeah, super cooL!

I adore the detail in this pic, sometimes,, actually most times I can't be bothered with detail but you seem to have the patience, I admire that, very good picture.

OMG! seriously, you put the description into the picture perfectly! Next time I play an RPG, I want to play something that looks like this drawing. He looks like one of those Long Ago Kings of Gondor, just as an Ogre. Awesome.

Hot holy flippin church mouses.. That dude is -huge-.. probably bigger then my house! or close to it.. *grin* I wanna take that one home.. *coughs* Aherm.. anyways.. He looks like what you get from feeding half the crew of WWF waayy to much mystery meat.. Love that somewhat gentile appearence.. He has an almost placid looking nature when you neglect to notice the man-sized weaponry across his back..
