SciFi and Fantasy Art: First HuntPoor mouse, but such is the way of nature. I think there's a certain symbolism here, in that my dragon always seems to be overpowering mammals. After all, we humans tend to empathize with other mammals, but the dragon is perpetually superior to humanity. Dragons, like nature itself, have an order and intelligence that supercedes our own a thousand-fold, but a wild unpredicatability that makes them seem dangerous. | |
 | | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 23 Dec 1999 | The Artist | Poor little dragon... been here for months, poised, and ready to strike, but nobody has commented. Perhaps it's the suspense itself that keeps everyone silent. | |
| 10 Jan 2000 | Laura Ellen Rappleye | Kawaii! Baby dragons are so cute, but who knows how friendly they are. Very nice picture, Tim. I want to see more! | |
| 28 Jan 2000 | Anna R. Dunster (Azzacanth) | hmm.. I always thought the dragon was most like the cat, myself... | |
| 4 Mar 2000 | John Teall | lunch is lunch - and i'm not planing on becoming a vegitarian myself anytime soon - which isn't an endorsement of "sport" hunting either - you kill it you eat it and don't hunt its species to the point of extinction has always made sense to me - for all we know natural hunters may well hear the thoughts of their prey - but they've still got to eat ... oh and before i forget - i REALLY like the way you do your forrests ... ~ | |
| 16 Mar 2000 | Lanine K. May | The only problem is that he's just barely larger than the mouse!! hehehe... He may be a baby.. but that's NO excuse! (*chuckle*) | |
| 17 Mar 2002 | Lizzie | NO! *flings herself on floor and sobs* Don't kill the mouse! It's SOOO cute! I feel like I could hold it in my hand, its fur looks so soft! Evil Dragon, Bad Dragon, no kill mouse! Go kill a sewer rat instead, at least they aren't cute! | |
| 16 Aug 2002 | Jonathan Franz | WHAT!?!?!? My gf keeps rats as pets... they're EVERY bit as adorable as mice... moreso! They're also the friendliest, most intelligent animals on the face of the earth and come when you call and play like kittens and everything! And even the kind that lives in sewers really isn't filthy and none of them eat trash... a rat won't touch spoiled food. Timothy R. Haldane replies: "Dragons, especially red ones like this guy (he seriously is, you just can't see it), have this little problem with being powerful and arrogant, and not exactly caring about the cute, soft, fluffy things in this world. Honestly. I don't make the rules here, that's just how they are, I'm sorry. Oh, and dragonlings won't make much of a distinction between rats and mice. Both taste good." | |
