SciFi and Fantasy Art: Battle at the Creek

Temper, temper. You might get the impression that my dragon here just said something to insult this bear, who until so recently was minding his own business. I can't condone his actions, but then, I can't control him either.

I've gotten enough comments on the bear, I suppose I should be fair and explain how I did it. I actually have a book on animal anatomy, and one of the featured creatures is a bear. I'd never really drawn a lot of animals before this, so I wanted to find some kind of reference. Look for the "Cyclopedia Anatomicae" some time.

I think that they're gonna kiss and make up. 2 And then when the bear's back is turned, mr dragon is going to do that super extendo jaw thing and swallow im whole. Just an opinion of course. 2 Awsome shading

hopefully for dragon he will recover the wits he was obviously not in possession of to get himself into this situation and use the one most effective natural advantage he has - his wings - and make a stratigic withdrawal - somehow i don't think that bear is going to be too impressed by a few singed hairs ... ~12

I almost considered drawing a fish lying in front of the bear at his mouth, as if the two were fighting over it. But then, I decided against it. A dragon of that size would be eating larger prey by then.

This dragon is in a tight spot indeed. It can't win the fight, it's only a hatchling. It's only hope is a blast with it's breath weapon followed by flight. Anyway, I like the background in this pic, I'm always too lazy to draw em!

My money is on the bear. Go on teach him a lesson! Dont' kill em though, just mame him a bit. This is very well done, you have captured the moment!

MY money is on the Dragon, of course, I only said that because it's been told, but also because Dragons are well-known for their fire-breathing skills, and of course their amazing aerobatics- in other words, the wings. And they have a habit of keeping their claws nice and sharp...

:-) Timothy R. Haldane replies: "Well the dragon does survive, that much is clear. How fared the bear? It really depends on how developed that breath weapon was at that point...!"

ooooh antother unusual battle mix. I'm trying to do a tour called Bttling Dragons. Not all is said and sure that I'll be able to get it up, but if I do could I use this pic?
Sincerest regards,
Alanna
