SciFi and Fantasy Art: Darian, Dark Mage of the Trio
Darian began life on Nalyndria as a half Dark Elf, the product of a brutal assault, and secret offspring of a human mother too softhearted to abandon him. As his in-born magical abilities painfully began to surface, it became more and more difficult to keep the child hidden, and his cries one day exposed the secret to the entire town. The mother fled deep into the woods, only to be murdered days later by some of the more pitiless townsfolk. Darian witnessed everything. He followed the murderers back to their homes, and that night, he discovered just what kind of power laid dormant inside him for so long. The cathartic release of magical energy burned the men to cinders, and gave Darian a high like nothing he had ever dreamed, and even better, the ability to slaughter mercilessly all who stood in his way. Darian began to hone his skills, but in more subtle ways, enjoying the games of cat and mouse he could play with the townsfolk. Paranoia, he learned, was the the most powerful of weapons, and in his eyes, none were innocent. He wreaked his revenge on the town not by force, but by turning every citizen into a gibbering mess of anxiety, allowing the beautiful symphony of chaos and disarray swallow them all. It was Vladmir, however, who accidentally turned Darian to Vampirism, being totally unprepared and incapable of handling his vampyric hunger that very first night. Darian has never forgotten the favor, Vladmir has never lived down his failure. Four hundred years later, Darian discovered one young mage named Nylrem who could suit his purposes, and so the dark one once again put his puppeteering skills to use...

This makes me think of a cross between Slayn and Ashram from Record of Lodoss War. Very cool. Timothy R. Haldane replies: "Ashram was actually very much my inspiration for the look of the armor on this character."
I love this pic! Everyone says that the staff looks too heavy...well he is a vampire and they are stronger than the usual human. Also since he is 400 years old he has to be extremely strong. Good picture...
Ohhh... *kneels before him, begging: "Please master, enslave me, for my life is worthless unless I'm in your command!"* *twisted grin* ...like this gyu... Timothy R. Haldane replies: "Hmmm... I have no idea how he'd respond to that. Very likely, he'd ignore you unless you got in his way. If he found you interesting or useful, perhaps you'd get your wish for a time before he disposed of you. If not, he'd likely magically toss you out of the way, perhaps very rapidly into something hard and painful. Darian's not very nice."

This is an overall great piece except for these few things the head is too large for the body and the staff is really odd (in the you caught your brother and your father sharing a bed sort off way)but as for the armor my compliments!****1/2
