| 17 Apr 2003 | N. Tang | I love the position of the body... it looks so real! | |
| 17 Apr 2003 | Rune | hes so beautiful (for a guy) bout time someone tossed old zues the son of a titan-ish guy into the trash. Hes very nice looking (true to the model, im guessing) and i love the clouds hes sitting on XD yay! Timothy R. Haldane replies: "He was one of our better looking models, actually, and one of my favorites to draw. From an artistic perspective, there are basically three kinds of fun models to draw. The first, his kind, are the ones who are in excellent shape, like gymnasts, and you get to see all sorts of marvelous workings of muscles and stuff. The second are the overweight models, because so much can be different and interesting, and it's nice to be able to portray weight and form. We had a woman who had just come off pregancy... she was my other favorite model. Simply beautiful. The third kind is slender older models, because you get great definition on and around their joints, and where lines form in the skin and everything. It's all just fascinating." | |
| 17 Apr 2003 | Natalie Paquette | *sigh* He's absolutely beautiful; and I'm glad you've kept him young here - I grow tired of the same old, bearded figure that gets repeated so often. THIS Zeus would have no problem seducing mortal women, I'm sure. ^-^ ... Anyway... I can see you're frustrated with figure drawing classes; I was going to sign up for one next semester, but it's only offered as a night class at my college, and I realized it wasn't going to be worth the extra effort to sit around and draw people, because I can really do that on my own time. (I just can't always get them nude.) -- Just a tangent. ... Once again, he's beautiful - thanks for sharing him with us. Now I'm off to look at your other work.... Timothy R. Haldane replies: "Well I certainly wouldn't want to talk you out of a life drawing class. There's nothing quite like it, and frankly, it's the best thing that's ever happened to my drawing skills (and by extension, everything else art-related). There's a big difference between being able to get clothed models to draw, and drawing nudes for a couple hours every couple days for a few months. It can be hard work, but it does wonders artistically!" | |
| 27 Aug 2003 | Sean | Hazaa! Im just glad to see someone making good use of life-drawing. I know too many artists who have never attempted nor wanted to do life-drawing, but the unescapable fact is (as shown here) Life drawing is one of the best things you can do to improove your skill, if not THE best. Great work, The twist of the body is quite dynamic. Sean, Digipen Student Timothy R. Haldane replies: "YAY, Digipen. Wish I'd given that place a try. The game design world is beckoning to me." | |
| 21 Jan 2004 | Heather A Spares | It reminds me very much of Michelangelo's body studies. I'm head over heels in love with the hand holding the bolt!! I can pretty much guarantee you that you've done your Model credit. Beautiful work! | |
