SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Ancient OneThe island of Nalyndria possesses a will of its own, or so it seems. Do not sail too closely, they say, lest your ship be dashed against the rocks by the fury of the island. When travelling alone in the woods, leave behind an offering to appease the trees and vines if you want to escape alive. There is a man, they say, behind it all, a man whose name has lost passed into shadow - that man is the Sorceror, known to locals as 'The Ancient One'. He has seen lived to see kingdoms rise and fall, to see the dawn of magic, the terror of the Sorcerors' War, and the backlash and persecution of his kind by the great armies of the world. Now dwelling alone in a dark and twisted tower on what was once his own personal Garden of Eden, the Sorceror grows in despair and paranoia, and his island, a reflection of himself, a living symbiote, slips slowly into madness along with him.
| | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 16 Mar 2000 | Lanine K. May | I really like the portrayal of him in the cloak/hood. I think I like that version of him better... suits hid mood better, me thinks. very nicely done.. | |
| 23 Apr 2000 | Eva C. Creyghton | Problem is, I think he's not ancient, but more middleaged with a huge beard... He hasn't enough wrinkle's, in my opinion. Otherwise, the style you use is perfect for this concept. He looks severe, but wise and honest. Cool eyebrows! Timothy R. Haldane replies: "When 900 years old you reach, look as good you will not." | |

Haldane replies: "A) I don't do commissions anymore; too busy. You seem to have forgotten to leave a name and email, making a commission rather difficult anyway."

| 13 Feb 2001 | Josh | you did exceptionaly well on showing age and wisdom in his face, the long hair made the exact impression of a wizard perhaps i was mistaken. | |
| 11 Mar 2001 | Anon. | He looks alot like Ramuh from final Fantsy IX but it is still Great WOrk ^_^! Timothy R. Haldane replies: "<smirk> I drew this well before FF9 came out - probably before it was in production. I guess Square just knows where to take influence. " | |
