SciFi and Fantasy Art: Desert Merchant

I did this at school ( mainly during German Lessons - don't tell my teacher! ). It took about a week. it's mainly experimental shading. I'm pleased with this, as I don't think I could have done this even a few months ago. for example, now when I look at my pic 'Dressed to Kill,' I see a lot of little things I could do better today. I think this one, and a pic called 'Dwarf of War' in my Zone 47 gallery are my favorites :) What do you think? any tips on improving my shading from any of you hardcore shaders out there?

I love the shading and the proportions are really good, however, being a middle eastern myself, he looks nothing like a desert merchant, you should look off another pic next time, but its really good and funny. 12

Hehe I normally do all my sketches in English lessons. Anyway, the picture... I especially like the way it looks so damn three dimentional.

Brilliant shadings. I've been watching this guy's drawings and they are all just absolutely fabulous. This one looks a bit like J. R. R. Tolkien in person? (I've got his picture above my door 2 Probaply a comic version of maestro himself? I love Tolkien.
