SciFi and Fantasy Art: Catch of the Day

Recently a good friend of mine was talking about the Little Mermaid and how she found story so very sad and a bit masochistic (the mermaid loses her tongue, when she has 2 feet she will feel as though she is walking on needles when she walks and worst lose the man she had saved and loved). So here is one where the mermaid catches her man and keep it! Am still working out the scenery which by the way will be the scenery of sand and sea. Colours are a bit horrible because I was lazy to erase me normal pencil sketch before using coloured pencils.

18 Mar 2007	Feadae	Loading... Question, how many versions of the little mermaid are there? I've read one other version besides the disney one and she neither lost her voice nor did she feel needles when she walked, she just commited suicide in the end when the prince ditched her for another woman. Other than that I like the drawing, the colors look fine.
