SciFi and Fantasy Art: Guardian Angel

Pencil sketch with Photoshop touch up. Tolkin is one of my favorite authors and I was trying to get the 'high helm's' of the Numeroreans. I recently went over this one, the two major changes being the wings and the shield. I used photoshop to rotate the shield so that the cross would be in the proper position, which is upright when the shield is held at the ready, not down at the side as seen in this picture. On the wings, I took someones suggestion and 'folded' them down. I am fairly satisfied how they came out, but not really happy. All in all I think this version looks a whole lot shaper. Please share your thoughs.

Lol, my 'guardian angel' is like an older child, kinda not the warrior type... Which i never would have thought of! My biggest issue with the picture r the tiny hands (i heard somewhere that the extended hand covers the face) and eh. Other things will come or they won't, but it's a nice piece nehow. Kudos! ^^
