SciFi and Fantasy Art: House of Horror

This picture was done for a contest...Which I still dont know if I won yet :) I will on November 1st. Anyway, the picture had to contain a holloween theme, so that explains the change from what I normally draw. It was drawn in Adobe photoshop, using the paintbrush, burn tool, dodge tool, and the smudge tool. These past couple pictures were drawn in 1280, 1024 resolution, and I lose SO MUch detail when I shrink them down for elfwood. I draw zoomed in VERY far and will even go the extent to draw fungus on the finger nails if necessary. So I've kinda bent the elfwood rules here, seeing as how the image is 1024, by 819 in size. Anyways check back often...I will be adding many more in the next couple weeks.

The picture is very brown, which I think makes it look a bit too homely. The ground is very nicely done. I hope you won

hi it's Ottovia again, this time having nothing bad to say about the cool picture! well, except that you could have stuck with the humanoids theme and had some sort of being imn the picture somwhere. eg even a skeleton lying in the barn or something. i dont knoiw. sorry if thats not your style, but this would definately do for a landscape picture!

I happened to think this was a VERY Awesome and Highly spooky image... the person who commented on the browns being too *familiar and Homey/cozy* obviously does Not realize that for anything (be it a story or painting/drawing/etc....) to Emit an unusual tone of Horror and uneasiness, it's the "more homey and familiar homey/cozy" appearances which some one feels *that could never happen to me here* type of thought--that Horrifies and terrifies The most, When The Most bizarre, and Horrific DOES happen to you in the most comfortable of places... ANYone who reads or even has read a bio or 2 and stories, or seen movies by Stephen King... can understand This most dark, unnerving, *walking on eggshells* type of antsy fear and terror. I also liked the pairs of glowing eyes just disembodied in the dark behind the house! Very... I don't ever wanna step outside* spooky atmosphere! Brava!
I hope you won your contest! 2
