SciFi and Fantasy Art: Dragon Banner

December, 2000.

As many will recognize, this is a linoleum print of the Dragon banner belonging to Lews Therin Telamon Kinslayer and Rand al'Thor from Robert Jordans' Wheel of Time series. The print actually has three colors incorporated in it, red, yellow, AND orange, but somehow my computer cut out the orange part...

Wow, I really like this one. Nice coloring and all. You need more artwork on this mama of a page though... With the talent I've seen in your work, you could rocket this page to STARDOM! And when you get there, I'll be right there to borrow money. Email me, I'm tired of having an empty inbox all the time.

I was randoming through the archives, doop-de-doo, and I saw this picture and *wham* my jaw dropped, and I just sat there and stared at it. I don't read the Wheel of Time series... so the background doesn't mean much to me; just from a picture point of view, this is... *FANTASTIC*!! There's this incredible energy to it, and the colors... really, words fail me, but I *love* this picture. *awe*

INCREdible. I have read the entire WoT series, and I have seen a lot of art spinning off these books, and also a lot of banners... But this is defn. the best Dragon Banner I've seen. What with all those specs all around the Dragon, it seems as if it is trying to fly straight ahead (or walking...), but there are always things that wish him to be sidetracked, to push him back. Love the effect this gives; it symbolices Rand perfectly. Umm, if you are such a lover of RJ's work, why don't you join us? http://www.wheeloftimerp.com This is a forum based RPG... Ah, just a hint, if you like making up stuff in the WoT world. Great pic!

This is probably the last thing the knight in shiny armor will see when he lifts up his sword. Very cool banner, although I would like to see more room above and beneath the dragon or (for a banner)an equal white-space at the left and the right of the dragon.
