SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Last Cry (Colored Version)

Well, as you all can see, this is the colored version of my pencil sketch, 'The Last Cry'. This was my second attempt at coloring this picture in Photoshop, and now I like it a zillion times more than my original one! *LOL* My big mistake for that pic, though, was to leave the paper white... which makes the glass blades look not too natural. BTW it was LONG to draw all these blades- any technique I could use instead of good ol' paintbrush? LOL

I love the grass! It's so cool!!!! the expression is good too. what was the inspiration for this piece?Hey, thanks for that wonderful comment about the grass *grins* * : ) My inspiration was mostly AD&D, which I used to play lost at the time, but like I said in my black and white picture, this image mostly came to me when my first bf left me- I was feeling very depressed.

An easy way to do grass in PhotoShop: First of all, select the spot you want to do the grass with. Paintbucket it green, maybe add some shadows and the like. Then, go to Noise, 50, monocromatic. Then, get out your smudger and the snowflake brush (get it with the free goodies you'll find in the PhotoShop files if you haven't) and set the pressure around 34-56 and start swiping. Whala, grass!

Now, I suggest some more shading. 2 And the arms feel a bit...short. Arms are generally 3 1/2 heads long altogether.

I love the feeling you've put into this pic. Keep up with the good work! *Grins*
