SciFi and Fantasy Art: Witch Hunt

I blame Rachel for this, who was talking to me about the superstitious grouse she's going to have to go with the gothic mansion she plans to design and build (architects!) I don't do grouse, so lo and behold witch hunter chicks! (If you live in the UK then you've probably seen the Famous Grouse adverts: imagine an entire field full slowly advancing to the 'du du du du doo-de de - doo!' theme. Freaky isn't it).

This is the first time I've tried doing anything near a proper comic ctrip/story type thing. Btw, in panel with the giant scales (yes, pythonesque) it says 'Oh quack' just in case you can't read it: can't get my program that I use to sharpen the images to work.

Quick a bucket of water, must save chick, this isn't right Helen, he's innocent and an innocent as well!

Well enough of that flight on fantasy, this is well done you ought to do more cartoons. I love the layout of the pictures as well, very easy to follow the thread. No let him/her burn!!!!
Mwahahahaa ha ha!!!!

Or maybe not....

Very interesting stuff Helen! So this is your first attempt ever a something in a comic format? Kind of shocking for a girl who seems to be so heavily superhero (X-Men *cough* *cough*) oriented! 14 Anyway, well done and bizarre at the same time! I really didn't get what you were meaning in your description but I got more of the idea when I looked through the storytelling part of your art. Interesting panel layout. Poor chicky! O_o - Derek First off, apologies for the VERY late reply! I am in fact useless.
Well its true about the whole comic strip thing - I've tried before but never been able to keep the consistency there. And when i've done fan art for comics its always been individual characters....

Not sure if 'interesting layout' is a good thing or not...? But this was actually done by doing all the panels individually and out of order, then arranging them on the computer. Yeah, me and my crappy technique, but didn't take me long to realise that it was the only way it was ever gonna work.

Belated thanks for the comment! Cheers!!!

Oh, the irony and highly amusing Monty Python references! I love these Chicks! You ought to do more of them, truly. Have you a scool paper you might submit them to? I left school a couple of years ago...
Haven't actually done any new chick pictures for a while, just haven't had any new ideas. But glad you liked the pic - thanks!
