SciFi and Fantasy Art: Pale Green Pants

OK, this picture has a long story behind it. When I was a little kid, I could watch The X-Files and sci-fi movies to my heart's content, and I never had one nightmare. You know what gave me nightmares? Dr. Suess. I kid you not; I would listen to Dr. Suess stories on tapes as I was going to sleep, and some of them really freaked me out. One of them was 'Pale Green Pants with Nobody Inside Them.' It was one of those stories where there's something creepy (in this case, ghost pants) which scares this kid, but then the creepy thing turns out to be scared of the kid, and they become friends and live happily ever after. Well, I didn't buy it. Sure the pants might be friendly, but where did they come from? Who created them, and for what evil perpose? Why were they green? So now, as an adult, I figured I should resolve this fear in a drawing. Frankly, it still freaks me out.

Don't even get me started on Bartholomew and the Oobleck.
