SciFi and Fantasy Art: Water Dragon

Creative title, I know. Remind me not to color a picture on the computer again for a long time. My art program (PSP4) is reaaaly cheap, and to get a picture to look anything but 'flood-filled' you have to do all sorts of interesting things you wouldn't have to if your program cost more than $10. Not that it matters all that much by the time the picture's shrunk down to Elfwood-manageable size. Anyway, enough of my rant.

2 Jun 2003	Meg L. Getrum	Loading... Hey, even done in PSP 4 it looks cool! This guy's got a really cool shape. The colors are neat too. I'd recomend only one thing, I'd change the pattern on the dragon so he doesn't have the same one as the water. Other than that, it's great! Love his wing fins, too. If you don't want to spend $400+ on Photoshop check out one of the latest versions of PSP, think they are up to 8 now. People may scoff at it but as far as artists like you and me are concered PSP 7 will do every thing Photoshop will do for only about $80. There's usually a 30 day demo at the Jasc site. Victoria R. Hershiser replies: "I actually did use a different pattern for the dragon than the water, I lifted marker patterns from two other pictures I'd drawn. It's probably more obvious on the original than here. As for your other comment, I can't afford an $80 program any more than a $400 one I don't like demos because they always run out as soon as I've mastered the program. So I'll probably be sticking with PSP4 a while longer "
