| 11 Aug 2000 | Medea | On the whole, I think this is a pretty cool pic. What you might want to try is perhaps making the feet a little bit longer (I'know that sounds weird, but I think it would work wonders for this particular piece) and perhaps make her head just a little bit bigger as well. You have talent, just need to make a few minor adjustments. | |
| 31 Jul 2001 | Sherry | It`s a very nice pic and the idea is genuine. I have an odd and somewhat frightening love for Amazons. I love her, butI also think she needs some decent clothes. She looks cold. Also, her breasts seem a bit...pulled forewards. Maybe if you rounded them to the sides a bit, they`d look more natural. Also, her feet do need to be a bit longer. Lovely pic, but a few adjusments would make her seem more live-like. | |

| 29 Mar 2004 | Wendelien Meijer | The fact that she doesn't wear armour doesn't bother me at all. She could just be hunting or gathering food. Personally, I don't see Amazones as women with huge breastplates ^_^ And her hair isn't too short! I especially like the fact that it's not too long. Gives a bit of a tomboy appearance to an overall very feminine figure ^_^ That the hands aren't entirely right is nothing to worry about, they are one of the hardest, if not *the* hardest part of a human body, so it takes a lot of practise (I drew entire pages of hands without really having the hang of it still) Try not to make the 'handbridge' to short, as it's almost equal the length of the fingers and her right hand wraps around the spear. Don't be afraid to let the fingers overlap each other, it actually creates a rather realistic sense ^_^ (There's a FARP article with lots of photographs of hands..you can download a few or more and practise with those so you don't have to hold up your own hand all the time) Her legs are a tad on the short side, though not really too short, and a little bit to straight in curves. If you watch a leg in the front, it's not entirely symmetrical in curve thickness. Try to watch the calves too as they now look about as thick as the ankle, though the ankle is considerably thinner in comparison. The feet are a little too short, but that was I guess because the paper had run out ^_^ Try not to make them too pointy in the middle. The biggest, or longest part of the foot is the big toe, and that's at one side of the foot. Don't feel like I'm gonig all critical on you, the overall feel of this pic comes across very well! She looks strong and capable, and the expression of a piece is just as importance as the techniqual aspects of a right drawn hand so it's good you have a feel for both. Practise makes perfect and as long as you have fun, drawing is a great thing to do ne ^__^ Good luck!
(As for the Anonymous commenter above me...I've seen MANY stupid and useless comments, but this one wins a prize!...geesh) | |
