SciFi and Fantasy Art: Hand

This is the b&w version of this picture, the first scan. The hand actually belongs to someone, so-to-speak. I used the hand of my friend Amy as a model. Then I decided that the positioning was right for making it look like the hand was controlling a spell, or casting a spell. That's where the floating crystal comes in. I made it sem-translucent...and in the original pic it's red. I'll post the color one, too. Lemme know which one is better, and any other comments/suggestions :)
