SciFi and Fantasy Art: Shanar Dark Elf Warrior

Shanar is a dark elven warrior from the Fall of the Dragonlords. This was the first pict done of him looking very elflike. He developed over a number of drawings inot something closer to the part demon/part elf dark elven of my world.

13 Feb 2002	Anonymous	Loading... You started with the head didn't you? ::Tisk Tisk:: ALWAYS start with the hips-- nice sword. shading could use some work, I like the grey back round, his head is way to big (as I said, start with the hips!) Good luck--
14 Feb 2002	Stephen Hippleheuser	Loading... Actually, I started with the shoulders. It has always been a good starting place for me. It is a place the angle and position of the character can be set. When I measure him he comes out about 6 1/2 heads high. That has always been in the normal range for proportions. Not Superhero proportions, but real ones. He does have a long face and poofy hair though.
