SciFi and Fantasy Art: Flight of Fate

A valkyrie sits solemnly upon her winged steed, a griffin. Sadly, she contemplates the lives of the souls she has taken to the great Halls of Valhalla.

Exquisite! I love the colors you used for this. Thanks. I wanted to give it a little bit of a different color scheme.

Magical work! Love the starts, nice detail. The colors are really nice! The girl her pose is great! Well done! Thanks, Kim! I was afraid I might have overdone the stars...nah, you can never have too many!

Starry, starry night....paint your pallet blue n grey....la da da da la da di dum....oh, sorry i was lost in the picture....it's very, very good....very tough angle on the woman....nice!Thank you...I originally wasn't sure if I should have her profile, or sidesaddle like this...so I compromised. *G*

You know, Valkyries can be men, too. ~Grins~ Do I detect a note of jealousy?

valkyrie sidesadle? - gnaw - her passinger clasped infront of her sidesadle ... not complaining only to mention my own ignorant perceptions ... of course she could be sitting that way because both she and her steed are taking a break - perhaps somewhere there is a lul in the fighting ... ~12 Even Valkyries need to take a breather every now and then...but then, being a creature of grace, this one prefers to sit sidesaddle. YOU try riding astride a flying griffin in a skirt!

This is exquisite. Once again, your colors glow, and the tones you've chosen are muted and effective. There almost seems to be a faint texture to the picture, which adds to the attractiveness.
Thank you! There actually is a texture...tee hee...this was painted back in my 'starving artist' days...I was too poor to afford a decent canvas, so I painted on the first thing handy...a Whitman's Chocolate Sampler box!

Ohhhhh!Niiiice! But I have one question, what's with the vertical lines?

:-) Heidi Rogers replies: "Read my comment above to Norma. Then shall ye see the early days of a once-starving artist. : )"

This isn't the Norse version, is it? It is a beautiful piece, but, um, not exactly Scandinavian.

:-) Heidi Rogers replies: "No, it's neither Norse nor Scandinavian in style. This is a fantasy portraying based off tales in general of Valkyries."

She's beautiful...she looks so sad and ethereal.

:-) Heidi Rogers replies: "Thank you. 1"

Did you use crayons?

:-) Heidi Rogers replies: "Crayons? Lol. No, I used acrylics."
