SciFi and Fantasy Art: Bernie

Yet another denizen of the ash desert (or at least, it's borders). I'm starting to branch away from that area of earth, but it's an easy one to draw for. This guy eats cockroaches and (when he can catch them) the birdy things from Percy's pic. This one is a real ranger, loping around the edge of the desert at a decent clip (only about five miles an hour, but he can keep up speed for hours on end). He stabs his prey with the loverly spikes, which he also uses to protect himself against the one large predator of his world (who will be drawn soon).

Seems you were inspired by a chicken and painted it once from the left, once from the right side... and regarding the legs, at first glance you don't know into which direction it will walk... Huh, I'm impressed!

He must sneak up on cockroaches, because they're speedy lil' things and he doesn't look like he's built for fast running ... mind you, he could surprise us. Heh ... I love fantasy creatures that look like they could exist in our world. So much better XD
