SciFi and Fantasy Art: The Witch King Angmar--First Nazgul

This is the fabled witch king Angmar (I think I am spelling it right) who became the first Ring-wraith. This is a shot of him just prior to turning. I always thought there was a slightly unique thing about him. I suspect he might have even known about the corruption long before becoming a wraith. Maybe even welcomed it. Sauron had this one seduced long before, I suspect. Though I will admit to not having read any of the HoME manuals, so I don't know for sure. I wanted him to be beautiful in his evilness. I read somewhere long ago that Satan loves, in a weird way, those that are fallen. And though I don't buy into Christianity at all, the thought that anything truely evil could still experience love, even twisted, dark love, intrigued and creeped me out. And I was thinking of that when I did this piece because I thought that perhaps Sauron loved Angmar--perhaps found him beautiful in his darkness. And so here he is....

The hint of a backround is what ties it all in for me... it is so hauntingly beautiful and mysterious.

This is just how I think it should be. This is an amazing bit of art that looks evil in a Nazgul way but almost looks good.I love it.

WOW. Just...wow. I can't believe that something like this would come from you. No, wait, that's not true. I CAN believe that something like this would come from you. You are so very talented. 2
Okay, the picture...AWESOME. I love that way his expression is...almost serene...as though he's accepted the fact that he's going to become a Ringwraith...beautiful work!
Keep it up,
XO

It's a great piece of work but it would have been more effective if the robe was longer.

This is a very beautiful image 2 I've always found that evil doesn't necessarily have to be ugly. It probably is even more horrifying if beauty accompanies it. The way you've drawn Angmar, it is clear that he doesn't think himself evil, which is probably true 2)) Amazing 2)

Well, I suppose the opposite of love isn't hate, is it? It's indifference. So hate would require much emotion and caring, just like love, but in a destructive sort of way. Very beautiful.

stunned, overtaken by a growing feeling of admiration

What will he look like when he is finally a full Nazgul?
