SciFi and Fantasy Art: Flynn Firewing

This is a comissioned piece of a good friend of mine. ^.^ She wanted something that spoke more of the wild inside, of sorts. ;) So I made this an Anthro Gryphon, with more emphasis on the gryphon triats then the human traits. The only real thing human about this piece, is the upright body posture, feet build to support the weight of upright walking, and more dynamic hands. :) I likes. This is the pre-finished inks. The cresent will be fixed and made into a moon. Simple background with an emphasis on symbology rather then complexity. :D Go here and check out her stuff. ;) http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/loth/k/k/kknick/

His staff is kickass. How long did this take you? I always praise people with patience... the detail is amazing!!

3 Hope Lynn Bryant replies: "*chuckles* Thanks. The staff was based on a staff that Flynn was creating. I figured it would go well with the representation I was trying for.Over all it has taken me mothns, of refining, setting it aside so as to not over-refine it, tryin gto actully cut /out/ some of the details so tha the image didn't get 'muddied' with extras bits, and trying to find ways to make that silly tail work right in the design of the picture. 12

Again thank you 1"

It looks like there is an invisible string tied to his left foot...gyaak!

22 Hope Lynn Bryant replies: "Where? the tail? or the line around the ankle? o.O *twitches*"

eek- no not a string as the last comment says- i just noticed all you forgot was to continue the lines of the tail inbetween the legs... so it does look like strings, but that look will go away once the tail in continued between/behind the legs. O.o but it's such a little mistake compared to how nice it cam eout.
