SciFi and Fantasy Art: Discourse with a Wyvern

This is the end piece of an art trade with Anna Brown. :) Very nice work, and a wonderful person. Her Wyvern persona is an equine-like head, with downward curving horns. ;) I thought I'd work it into a reclining postion and the wings just 'did their thing' as I was drawing. :)

I love the pose. He looks very regal somehow. I also like the border. It gives the piece a very finished look to it.

:-) Hope Lynn Bryant replies: "*nods* Rather then have it seem as if its just 'flaoting there', I tried to give it a frame of sorts. 12 Thsi is my first reall attempt at inking. 2 You can see the other, more advanced version of my ink style in the rest of the gallery. 1"

I don't realy like the head.It would look better if you maid it look mean.I mean when did dragons become nice???

:-) Hope Lynn Bryant replies: "*chuckles*

Have you ever though that dragons get nasty towards humnas, because humans keep trying ot kill them off. 12 lol

Plus, how do you know what a dragon is, if they are mean or not? Are you one? 12 *chuckles*

Though mean dragons /do/ tend to look more awe inspiring. 12"

*stares oddly at beuben* o_O;; I love the head! The muzzle especially. Looks like a very powerful character =D

7 Hope Lynn Bryant replies: "*nods* Equine based. 2 Character description stated it to be equine based. ^.^ i htink it adds a hint of regalness to it, personally. 12 *chuckles*"

Man i am getting kinda of mad. Well the reason why is how do u draw dragons i mean i drew one before but nothing like these drawing man u r way better than I...(( But it would be a chalenge between uu and my broth Ryan but still have fun at all times and keep it up man ))

:-) Hope Lynn Bryant replies: "Practice, constant drawing, references to real life creatures, and the creativity to find ways to combine realife creature to make a dragon form. 12

I'm glad you like it so much. Just rememebr, if you stop drawing you'll /never/ get better. If you keep drawong, no matter how much it frustrates you.., you can ONLY improve! 1"

I think its awesome! I believe nice dragons, are wonderful dragons. I really wish I could draw like that, but I doubt it`d be possible, I`m more of a landscape, anime person type drawer. But anyway, Anyone who doesn`t like it *in my opinion* IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE! Its wonderful! ^_^

:-) Hope Lynn Bryant replies: "Indeed. ^.^ *chuckles* Thanks. I think dragons can be perfectly gentle and congenial, especially if they want something. *chuckles* That is from another dragon. 12 *G*"

I'll echo the others; what a *great* pose! I love the transparency in the wings, and the composition of the piece, too. Nice!

:-) Hope Lynn Bryant replies: "Thanks. 2 ^.^ Hopefully I'll be able to come up with some stuff to send your way. 12"

Its very cool and tight! ^_^ But isn't Wyvern suppose to be little dragons? But still, Dragons ARE SO COOL!!!! People think their stupid and all that crap, but I think their totally the king of the Mythical Creatures! ^_^ n.n

:-) Hope Lynn Bryant replies: "Wyverns are dragon-like creatures that have only one set of wings and one set of legs and or fore arms. Some are small, but not all Wyverns are small. 2 Check out Draconic.com, they have a massive link list to different mythic websites that have more information 1"
