SciFi and Fantasy Art: Waydreland Peninsular - The Port

Scanning a large picture excludes too many details, so I have decided to divide Waydreland into two halves! This detail shows the peninsular city viewed from the South. The boat in the foreground is heading towards the Mermaid tavern (see 'The Waydreland Mermaid'). Waydreland's fine deep-water harbour is protected on all sides by a chain of islands which are connected by stone bridges. Dwellings cluster high upon the rocks, whilst taverns and warehouses group untidily about the quaysides.

Truly exquisite.

I really like how you do your houses. They look almost Chinease to me. These ones in particular are very lighted. They stand out very well!

I love the rosy pinks against the gray sky. It's very, very lovely. I agree with you completely about scanning large pictures. So much detail is lost. Is it just me or do I see some Bob Ross influence in the clouds?

happy little houses! no, this looks more...um...glowering than bob ross. the sky is so cloudy, and the sea is so dark, and the houses are so pink....

The colors are fitting for a veiwer with infravision. Was it the artists intention to portray this illusion?

Amazing detail on all those houses. I love the backdrop of that dark sky. The water is fantastic.. It looks so real. 2

Keeping her body hidden in the dark waters, eyes peered at the massive town as her nose caught scents that flooded her mind with curious thoughts. Blinking she dove beneath the waves to get a closer look, swimming alongside a solitary boat as it drove hard for port unawares of the silver tail as it cut the waters. So much imagery it gives me hope to get my will back into writing.
