SciFi and Fantasy Art: Kitto! This colourful fellow is Kitto Tannoy, acrobat, contortionist, thief, burgler, gambler, drinker, and bad dresser extraordinaire. Another body study, I think I'm getting the hang of it. Done with coloured pencils, obviously. Very bright ones. Useless trivia of the day, kitto is Japanese meaning 'alright' or 'okay'. Wow, eh? | |
 | | | | | Date | Name | Comment | | | 3 Sep 2000 | Jena Marie Lombardi | I love his expression! The coloring and shading of his face is excellent! (well, it's cool in the rest, too, but I love the way you did the face) His feet seem a bit awkward, maybe just too small compared to the length of the legs (although that may have been what you were going for with the skinny look). Great pic! Artists comment: Well, I kind of forgot his left foot when I scanned it in . . . I had to draw it in at the end, colour it, then scan it in again, so that might be it. ~huffs~ Annoying feet. | |
| 23 Sep 2000 | Luie | It was Duo, not Quatre! GW fan has now entered fantasy world! | |
| 23 Sep 2000 | Arti 'Ice Phoenix' Nakido | Just wondering, you look at a Gundam Wing pic for this? Seems to me I've seen a Quatre pic in that position. Also. "Kitto", last I remember doesn't mean "okay" There's a song "Kitto OK" by Duo but it means "it's going to be ok" or "surely it'll be okay" kitto itself is more the "it'll be" or "surely" part. | |
| 13 Oct 2000 | Min Rho | looks like you relied heavily on the pic of Duo from gundam wing. Like the green eyes, though | |
| 28 Nov 2000 | Cally G. Steussy | What's wrong with drawing from a picture? I used to steal poses out of fashion magazines via tracing paper when I was starting out. (that was a long time ago, thank goodness) It's a good way of getting to know the figure WITHOUT pulling all of your hair out. :-P I love his expression, he looks so cheerful! His legs are a bit stick-like, though - they probably could stand to be thickened and rounded. | |
| 3 Jan 2001 | Kimbery Chwee Godwin | Hai, Soo desu!
I agree, there is nothing wrong with using a pic for a pose. It is the best way to draw a human or an animal... have you ever tried to get someone to hold still for a simple 5 minute pose? it's alot harder than it sounds. what i recommend is that you create a pose book filled with magazine clipping pics- anything you find interesting and save it for future reference.
another good thing to do is talk your friends into posing for you and take pics of it for future reference.
anyways i like the wild colors and the description you used to explain the character. ^_^

| 1 Feb 2001 | Roz | marvelous! it makes me feel a bit dastardly to look at it, well, at least it woke me up a bit from my late-night studying daze. Quite a lot of energy in this pic (and you gotta love the outfit. I gotta get me an outfit like that. I mean it, too) I can't say anything about the pose - I mean, I think it's good, but I don't know anything about gundam wing . . . however, the expression I feel able to comment on, and I think it conveys a great deal of personality, even though I don't know the guy. | |
| 12 Aug 2001 | Seraphsong | I found you! **grins** I've seen the pic of Duo from GW like this ; ) This is nice Ingrid. Nothing wrong with weird colored clothes, I wear them all the time. I especially like his hair. **runs off humming Kitto Ok!** | |
| 1 Jun 2002 | Spazz | Interesting clothing! Anyway, there's nothing wrong with copying piccies. ^^ I have a friend who happily poses for me all the time!(Hopefully, you'll have a friend like that, but if you don't. I'll just mail her up to you in a wooden crate. Heh heh...) Wonderful coloring scheme. It catches your eye very quickly. Keep it up! | |
