SciFi and Fantasy Art: Unfinished

What? It is. I want to put a background in. Someday. Just like I want to with every other bloody picture I've drawn . . .

Anyway, this is obviously done with ink, mainly stipling and it's of the ever-popular (hah!) Kitto Tannoy and his . . . friend, Uula DyBane, who belongs to Em Godfrey. ~waves~ It's her fault Uula has absolutely no sign of shine or depth or anything on his hair. Damn freaky mages. I feel rather proud of this, I used those cute little Posey Woods to get the proportions right and everything. Frame work isn't that bad after all . . .

*sniffs* I had nothing to do with it. He's stubborn and capricious and didn't deserve shiny hair. *grins brightly* I already said this, but i love this piccie Ingrid dear. My only complaint would be that the lines for the bodies are undefined, and some of the others are a bit shaky. Finish it, of course. *salutes and drags Uula off after her, muttering* stop looking so smug...you don't look that good in real life...
Artists comment: Honestly Em dear, if you talk to him like that, it's no wonder that he defies you to come and see Kitto and prefers to seek other company 12 Seriously, the lines are probably look undefined because a) my scanner is crap 2 and b) it was done with stipling instead of lines shading. I find stipling suits the soft folds of cloth, especially velvet, more than lines do. I'll touch it up if I get around to adding a background though, okay? It might appear more defined with some good solid wall behind them. I'm so glad you like though!

I likes muches, especially the stipling effect on the clothes(though I couldn't tell ya why), it's a nifty way of shading. I think the back one needs some feet (I know he's right behind the front one, but if they're standing that close together they should maybe be at an angle something) but that's my only major complaint. I love the expression on the dark haired one... that's Uula, right? anyway he does look really smug 'n' stuff. Nifty pic, post more!!! (wow I'm one to talk... I will update one of these days, I swear! I have a bunch of pics I need to scan first is all)
Artists comment: Yup, that's Uula and he's allowed to be smug. He's Uula, end of story. ~grins~ You said the exact same thing my teacher did, dammit. I despise feet. I think they're covered by his robes, myself. Since it has been proven that he does actually have feet, and not tenactles as was originally though . . .

I think that you need to work on his robe....darken the edges so you can tell the difference between the robe and the clothing of the other. oh yeah.....you may need to add some feet....but it also can be one of those details that make people wonder, every great artist has was one.
