SciFi and Fantasy Art: Hunter gunship (flight frontal)

Here I finally added some background. Notice wings have opened and lifting jets are smaller as the gunship is flying forward and thus relaying on airspeed for support. I forgot to say it before.. the downward looking screen is intentional, the gunship is conceived for ground attacks (just like todays rotor propelled gunships). The pilot stays in an almost standing position, his feet would be just above the chaingun, his head would be at about 2/3 the total height of the screen.

Looks cool for a start.

Scene seems a little confusing, have to watch the lines in the picture. People's eyes follow the light/dark and lines in the picture. Your focal point is the spaceship but it does not stand out that much.
Check out some art theory, stuff like compostion and eye leading. A lot of it will work for 3d too. I have problems with eye leading too, so you are not alone.

:-) Carlo Bottiglieri replies: "Yep, I had noticed that the ship was lost due to wrong lightining, mine is often a battle between adding realistic light sources from realistic spots and placing lights just to highlight the right stuff."
