SciFi and Fantasy Art: The End of the Hunt

'Hiiragi cheekily sits on his fallen prey, happy that he had finally dispatched the demon that had terrorized the countryside. He smiles weakly as the Benevolent demon Shiki, his guardian, protector, and sidekick, gives its young master a reproachful, unapproving look. After all, if anyone else had seen the reckless acrobatics Hiiragi employed during the slaying, they'd be worried too!' This is an illustration based on two of my favourite original characters; Hiiragi, a 16 year old who is the last of his demon hunting legacy, and Shiki, a shadow demon bound to protect him from harm at all times. This piece took 2-3 days, and was produced with Painter (and a little help from Photoshop).

It was a long fussy creature with 2 eyes hanging on a string that you could turn around. You can get something similar now, just attached to a ball and mainly for pets.

27 Aug 2006	John Nowak	Loading... Okay, exactly what is a prayer strip for (preferably meaning, "How is it used [in prayer]?") and why are they covering the slain demon? Also, why is there a spell scroll on Shiki's face? I think you should also know that Shiki looks almost like the dead demon's tail or something. Oh, and to Tom Marvolo Riddle: someone like you is only expected to want to see the monster kill the person. (Yeah, I'm a Harry Potter fan, too!)
