SciFi and Fantasy Art: Dragon and his best Friend

EH, I never finished this one..... Oh well, I just did some contrast stuff in Photoshop to give it a finished look, even though it is incomplete(obviousely). I still like it, but I really haven't felt the need to finish, maybe because I'm afraid of ruining it after three months of leaving it alone..... Naaahhh. I've got an imagination that it crazy, and if I don't finish it within a week, I'll put it off for longer because of some new Idea that I feel is more appealing to me. Done in 2002.

this is marvelous! her body is perfect! (her face looks kind of wonky... a little bit of a stupor she seems to be in) but the piece as a whole is SOOOO GOOD! i used to pride myself on being able to draw and shade before i saw your galery (now i think all my stuff is crap)

Is that a tattoo on her...nevermind. 14

Anywho, had to leave my mark on this, cuz those are some darn impressive hands and feet there, senor, along with the extrememly creepy dragon and the wondrous highlites on the woman's skin. If you're gonna tinker with it, be careful! uz it's awesome as it is.

Nah, don't finish it, it looks good like this. I really like the thick black outlines for some reason...

Wow this is one of the best drawings of a dragon I have ever seen!

Including pics and or movie frames!

Ive been a dragon lover since I was a little kid!
Have found very few that I have liked!

I love the way you see them!

Have you done any other dragon drawings?

12 James Elliott Whitley replies: "Yes my dear, I do have more. I don't know if you checked the rest of this website, but not only do I have more, but so do many other extremely talented people. I haven't been able to draw what I want as much lately though. I've been working on comissions and finishing up a project that I've been working on for about a year now. Though I've got to make a living, I'm dying to get back into all the drawing I used to do. Maybe I should find commission work in the field I'm interested in most? Hopefully I can, but right now I'm finishing up a cd cover for Timothy Brindle entitled 'Killing Sin'. It's a christian R@B albume that is coming out pretty soon, and the first commission I've started work on. I did however just finish up some work on a 3d sports car developed by West Philly Highschool's professor and students. Still waiting to FULLY complete that as the photage needs to be edited. Anyway, thanks for the comment. Also, I do have other work not yet on elfwood, so I'll see when I can get that up. Peace!"

This is terrific. Wonderful anatomy - you shade the different volumes very adequately. Nice layout and linework too - everything is very pleasing to the eye!
Carry on, you're doing a great job!
